Who are “WE”?
We are the team that seeks SERENITY through SERVICE AS A VIRTUE.
Our JJ Self Confidence Charitable Trust, established in 2018 by Mr Jagatheesan, is dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of underprivileged individuals. We support orphaned children, widows, the elderly, and persons with disabilities, empowering them to overcome challenges and thrive.
How it all began?
The inspiration behind the Trust is deeply personal. Our founder grew up in an orphanage after losing his father, and his mother had to secure a better future for his younger sibling through food and education. Growing up in the orphanage profoundly shaped his life. As a child, he felt immense gratitude toward the donors who supported him during those years. That gratitude gradually transformed into a strong desire to give back to society.
The Seed
The donors who helped our founder indirectly planted a seed when he was a child to help others when you have the will and money. With him, the spirit to help others also grew.
The Struggle
He had to earn his own living while struggling to care for his family as a martial arts/Silambam trainer. The financial stability of our founder was weak to help the needy. He decided to look for like-minded people, and then a WhatsApp group was created.
The Sprout
The First help, Mr Raghu (28), had a leg disability and used a calliper that allowed him to walk independently. As time passed, our trust grew larger, attracting more people to join.
The Achievement
- Actively participated in COVID-19 relief efforts by distributing groceries and essential supplies, supporting over 50 families during a period of extreme hardship.
- Successfully organized food donation and relief activities through dedicated volunteer involvement during the pandemic.
- Initiated blood donation drives in response to an urgent appeal from a 26-year-old cancer patient, helping save lives.
- Conducted book and stationery donation programs for underprivileged children to support their education.
- Implemented weekly food distribution drives every weekend, serving roadside and homeless individuals with the mission of eliminating hunger.
